The first of these two datasets shows the characteristics of tax filing units eligible for the earned income tax credit by different geographies. The second shows the same information, but for tax filing units eligible for either the earned income tax credit or the additional child tax credit. The geographies include state, county, metropolitan area, and nonmetropolitan area. Data are from the 2018 American Community Survey as modified by the Urban Institute’s Analysis of Transfers, Taxes, and Income Security model.
