In our analysis of the US Department of Transportation's Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program, we collected and analyzed information on project applications and awards for each year since the program's inception in 2009 through 2024. We also mapped funded projects by hand using geospatial software to allow for a neighborhood analysis of project locations. Our project team mapped RAISE projects to the best of our ability based on publicly available project information. We did not map projects where there was not enough information available to identify a project location, or where the funded work was across an entire jurisdiction.
We provide our constructed RAISE application and funded project data at the county level, and our mapped project location data as a GEOJSON file. The application and funded project files both include README tabs with data dictionaries.
